These 1990s Ludwig cymbal stands were so crappy and unreliable for cymbal stands, but I must say that I am finally getting some true usefulness out of them. I use the boom arm wrapped in cloth for doing shells.

Ditto, North boom stand, built like a tank, can hold 5 shells at once.

Alternatively, I use the Semi-Dangerous Stripper (double face masks recommended).
