Go to your local drum shop and get new inserts as well as rods, I promise you it will save MANY headaches in the days to come. Not worth "trying to keep it all original" as the rods you have are likely Star and irreplaceable, period. The inserts and rods will cost less than originals after you factor in shipping from an ebayer.

Yes, I have the whole set. The 20" bass, 14" floor tom, 12" ride tom, 14" snare. The pedal broke after a few years and I replaced it. Still have the hi-hat and the 3 cymbals. Both bottom rims from the toms were missing along with the tension rods.I found exact replacements for the rims, oddly enough, the floor tom took the standard tension rods, the ride tom used the metric smaller thread. I'm also missing 6 hammer-style bass drum tensioner rods, haven't been able to find those yet anywhere. I took the bottom heads off to make the drum sound more rock-and-rollish and they probably got tossed after I moved out.I'll post a picture when I have it finished. I'm glad I found this forum!
