What you have is the "Pro Beat" setup.

The snare is a Supraphonic, usually worth considerably more than an Acrolite. However, your snare appears to have quite a bit of scratching and condition issues. I'd say no more than $200 of the asking price would account for the snare.

Now the other drums and the other $1800 in your asking price. They appear to be 3-ply shells, which are almost universally worth more than the later 6-ply drums. They would be very desirable if the finish was the Thermogloss maple stain, but it looks to me that they are the maple cortex wrap. Are there seams on the drum shells? If so--it's a wrap, not a stain finish, and would be a lot less desirable to collectors. A Thermogloss kit in those sizes would most likely bring $1800 or even more. I could be wrong, but I just don't see quite that amount in a maple cortex kit. Make no mistake, these are fantastic drums for players and recording, especially if 3-ply. And your toms and kick appear to be in great shape judging from the photos alone. Judging by the photos alone, I'm seeing $1000-- as is.

You may have a better chance at getting closer to your asking price for the kit if you really took some time to detail it out. Remove all the lugs & hardware, polish them using a good chrome polish. Who knows, that Supraphonic might polish up rather nicely. But avoid using steel wool if you can and never use steel wool on a Supraphonic shell as it will cause permanent damage. If there is slight rust, use a mixture of Bon-Ami and Dawn dish soap and use an old toothbrush to remove it. You can use a good-quality auto wax on the outside of the shells.

Advertise the drum kit and original hardware alone, and take new pictures of the kit after you have detailed it. Get some good closeup shots of the hardware and inside of a shell or two (especially if there are any date stamps!) Sell all the other cymbals, stands, rack, double pedal, etc. separately. In fact, I wouldn't even have the other accessories in the pictures. A serious buyer of the drums is most likely not going to be interested in cymbals and accessories not original to the kit. You don't have to invest in all new heads for the kit in order to sell it, but for presentation to a prospective buyer please get rid of those gawdawful muffle rings!

Even $1200 is high for cortex wraps, regardless of shells. You should be in the 600-800 range in today's economy. Sorry, but truth is what it is.

I am ASKING 400 for my WMP custom Pearl kit and likely won't get that, and they are early 60s in prime restored condition.
