I recently bought this. I can't find any info on dating where the stamp has block lettering including the O in CO. All I have seen, on the internet, is the Co (underlined "o"). Anyone have any input on this? It is a 16 " cymbal and is quite heavy for a 16 crash. Thanks in advance!
I have been scouring the internet trying to find out more information on this exact stamp. I have a 17" Medium Thin crash that I have been trying to get some info on as I picked it up secondhand. I agree that it is post-82, pre-94 (at least in the case of my cymbal) because in 82, Z started stamping the big Zildjian name on the cymbals in full (compared to the outlines of the 70s) and they also started adding the date/lot etching in 94.
Regarding the pic, my cymbal has that exact stamp. The differences he mentioned are present in mine as well and I can't find any pictures of them either. I also noticed the "AVEDIS" is in a much thinner font compared to stamps commonly seen from the 70s and prior.
Have you been able to find any more information on this?
