New w Question regarding early ludwig snare

I'd appreciate some advice regarding the 'patina' of older drums and how an unrestored drum holds value versus a restored drum. Here's an example, a drum that is for sale near me:

I'm not a flipper, just looking for how others would treat a drum like this. 1) leave it, 2) remove rust and give it a good cleaning, 3) re-chrome everything and make it sparkle.

Thanks for any and all thoughts.

I agree with snaremania. There are discussion threads here about what really "patina" vs what is just neglect. I think (?) the consensus is that rust is not patina. Rechroming wouldn't be appropriate anyway because the original parts are most likely all nickel plated.

Oh, by the way, great drum! It will look nice all cleaned up.
