after an L arm for my kit, do you have one amongst your yamaha stuff?
Sorry, can't help with that I'm afraid.

Nice work! They almost look good enough to eat.
what a fab stunning wrap, good job !!
Here in the states their is a nationally broadcast late night show called The Jimmy Fallon show, the Roots are the house band and the Drummer is Questlove,he plays a late 60's blue willow yammy,so you are in good company, except I think yours looks even better! Great look and vibe glad you are playing out with those, they deserve to be seen and heard. As you all say down under,Good on ya.
Gorgeous!!
Very nice! Simply gorgeous wrap and all the hardware seems intact and in nice condition as well. Hope they sound as good as they look. Let's have a vid of one of those shows!
Your kit is a Yamaha C-220 in Red Thunder. These are 6ply drums (bass, snare, and toms). They were originally listed under just the 200 Series, but they soon earned the C designation as Yamaha built up the lines. The C-200 was a 20/12/14 and the C-220 was a 20/13/16. Only the C line was available in the Thunder wraps. There was Blue Thunder, Gold Thunder, Red Thunder, and Midnight Surf.
@eamesuser - thanks for that. I am a bit of a fan of Questlove; nice to see he's using an old Yamaha. They really are a cut above the other MIJ kits I have as far as quality goes.
@Jonnistix - I'll try to organise that at some point. We recently did a national tour where we set up a video camera every night, and every night we forgot to press record. And yes, the hardware is in great condition too. I was also pleased at just how little the wrap had faded over the years; the difference in colour under the lugs compared to the exposed areas is pretty hard to detect.
@rogersling - that's great information, thanks. It's good to see the catalog pics too.

Hey thanks RogerSling. I've got an orphan 13" tom in Golden Dragon (according to the scan you posted). I hadn't seen the name before. Here I've been calling it "yellow ripple" and other things much less grand... :(
Your kit looks amazing! I'm currently looking at getting a blue Yamaha C-220 as well for my first vintage kit! What Cymbals do you use with it?
