1960's Japanese tension rods. Where do I get them?

Loading...

I have a Japanese Ideal drum kit I am restoring and i am missing some tension rods from the mounted tom. They are 1 and 5/8 (35mm) long, but the thread on a new standard rod is too thick. I was told that the Japanese rods are of a slightly smaller thread. Does anyone one know where I can buy the smaller thread Japanese rods?

Thanks

Put out a message to jonnistix as I believe he is the master of the Japanese drums.

Metric threads perhaps?

I believe standard american rod inserts are made for a rod that is 7/32 inches in OD outer diameter and are 12 -24 threads. #12 shaft radius dimension with 24 threads per inch. I would like to know what size is used on the Japanese kits.
