Of course this poll is crap. I mean, it's a Rolling Stone Magazine Reader's Poll, after all. But, at least Buddy made the list (since I was afraid the young RS readers wouldn't know who he was).

Here is the link to the RS poll:

Buddy has generally been considered the best drummer ever and I have never seen anyone like him since. However back in the day Jazz was the equivalent of what Rock is now, the popular music of it's day. Many people make a distinction that he was the best jazz drummer and Bohnam was the best Rock drummer. Technically speaking I would still put Buddy #1.

Trash?? I love all those guy's. In truth there are to many to historic world class drummers to condense to 10. But as a general music lovers/punters mag poll goes it isn't that bad. In a bar(depending on what day it was) if you asked me the same question over a few beers(depending on how many!!!) my list would of been pretty similar. Although in my head I don't grade my fav's 1-10 in importance. Actually of course I love far more individual drummers than that, lets try a top 50.

40's Slingerland Radio King WMP
60's Ludwig Downbeat Silver Spark
70's Ludwig Super Classic White Marine
60's Gretsch RB Champaigne Spark
70's Rogers Big R Black
90's Sonor Hilite (Red maple)
00's DW Collectors Broken Glass
00's DW Jazz Series Tangerine Glass
10's DW Collectors (Acrylic) Matt Black Wrap
10's PDP Concept Wood Hoop kit (Maple)
