What Deals Have You Gotten?????

Loading...

Lots of cool kits and snares and cymbals. Here's a couple of the cool deals:

Supra for way way under a hundred, TWO sweet old Rogers kits for less than a hand of Bens, Luddy Big Beat for 150, several HH cymbals for under a hundred ... these were all purchased from business establishments and not from individuals.

But ...

Biggest misses and passes that I would like a second chance at ...

65 Rogers 20 12 14 in WMP with matching Dyna and all the hardware - my friend wanted a couple of hundred for it so he could buy himself a low end Yammie kit.

59 Ludwig Downbeat in Gold Sparkle with 59 Supra. Included all correct hardware and period correct Zildjian cymbals - my friend wanted a grand for it all. It had been stored in cases and was absolutely pristine.

I've had a few. Pre-serial Ludwig Super 400 for $135. Zildjian 16" trans stamp for $60. Ludwig 22 & 13 red Vistalite, 22 had a seam split and the 13's bottom edge was a little rough, with a pointy B/O Acro for $85. Just recently got one, not a steal but I think it was still a super good deal, a Ludwig B/O 3-ply virgin 14x26 in BDP for $275. The one I kick myself over everyday is not a drum but it is a musical instument, a 1972 Marshall Super Lead head that was blowing fuses that I could've had for $50. Doh!

I recently bought a no name 18" floor tom for 30 buck's a parts drum . when i took the top head off there was 2 envelopes taped to the interior of the shell one of the envelopes had 120 in old canadian 5 and 10's and the ohter envelope had a bag of old dried up weed in it . it seems to me that guy who had these drum's wasent a very good buissnes man he got high and forgot about his stash . i wish these things happen all the time

Got a 70s Slingy kit (solid black wrap) with a couple of decent cymbals and some not so decent hardware for $300. Traded it to someone on CL for a USA Stratocaster which I sold for $700. Profit of $400 with no work other than driving to pick up and drop off.

About 5 years ago I bought a set of 3 LP Classic series congas for $550, traded them for a 80s Gretsch square badge kit.

Just got a Hamilton snare stand Pat. 1901-1905 for 22$ US, as a tom holder for a Ludwig kit I'm building (details in my sig).

The other night while looking through the Ludwig book, who knew, turns out they offered the exact same stand in the 20's. Yes sir!:D

OT.....

I looked at a small nightstand at a yard sale YEARS ago,and when I opened the drawer, there was around a dimebag of herb in there!

I asked her "does this come with it"?

She was so surprised it was in there!

I should have kept my mouth shut, and just bought the stand!
