I believe that's what I might have.

This is not at all what I expected to see.

The serial number of 2057777 dates it to 1980+ (newer than 1980).

The shell looks new and the wrap looks BRAND NEW but the muffler looks 20 years old.

The biggest killer is that the badge grommet is a split grommet and it's a real real bad fit. It doesn't even cover the hole in the badge.

Now, I know craftsmanship was getting worse on a lot of items by the 80's but this looks pure amateur.

The shell looks like a cheapo TKO shell with a sort of beige or off white paint.

It looks like a 4 ply shell.

2 hole P-85 blackface strainer.

I am definitely confused.

EDIT: I just noticed that the badge is glued down.

Here are a couple pics.

Doesn't look like any Ludwig shell I have ever seen. But then, I am certainly no pro.

show pics of the entire drum inside and out show the vent hole badge! from the original pic it looked to be a JF but that wasn't a good pic, had I know you were thinking or buying the drum, could of evaluated it better for you.

I ran over to George's and Matt felt it was definitely not a Ludwig shell.

Here are some more pics. I'll wait a couple hours to hear from people here before I contact the seller but, I think we have a definite "significantly not as described" item here. LOL

I just looked at this sellers feedback and all of his bad feedback (only 3) are all for selling fake merchandise. The auction says he's not a drummer and knows nothing about drums but I have to wonder. I may ask that he pay return shipping as well. I'm not saying he intentionally defrauded but it looks a little like that.

Yeah you want a full and total refund, if that was the correct shell from 1980+ it would be 6 ply and a clear Interior shell not white painted.
