Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

One thing is for sure, if I had to spend 5K and my choice was between that old K or a new DW set, I'd pick the cymbal every time...

Well, I wouldn't lay down 5K$ on a DW any time! (except maybe a maple timeless timber set).

I may be with you on it given you "have to" spend the money and those were the only choices. I would want to hear it, though (others are saying it's a dog? I find that hard to believe from what it looks like).

Seems to me e-bay has become an advertising sight for high end drums/cymbals. All nice rare items seem to be Buy It Now/best offer. Smart move for sellers but doesn't allow for true market value. So he's not really pushing the market.

When prices get that high, it leaves me behind. I play vintage drums because I like them and they can be found for reasonable prices. I play "Used" not "Vintage" cymbals for the same reasons.

I would never even consider spending that much without at least hearing it first. Playing in person would be preferable.

I sent Walter detailed instructions on how post a soundfile on eBay because he wanted it, but apparently it must have been beyond him because he never used it.

...others are saying it's a dog?.

Only one did that I know of.

And this came from somebody who gets off on throwing cold water on threads like this, so take it with a grain of salt.
