Walter pushing the market again

More power to him, I guess.

Walter's prices are always about 20% higher than the highest possible market value. But then again he's from New York, where the prices are higher than anywhere else. Just wait a little and the rest of the market will catch up with him. And in the not too distant future, when the inevitable currency devaluation of the $ continues, this price will seem like a real bargain. -Bill

Yes, and the same predictable bunch of cry-babies over there on Cymbalholic whining about it yet again. This of course happens every the prices start adjusting upward, which inevitably they must.....and likewise will continue to do. But how long must we suffer such fools?

And one of the few sensible ones over there who actually knows what he's talking about, MLVBS says:

"How many near perfect 22" late 40's thin old stamps come around for sale? I've seen 2 sell for more than this...."

Thank you for that refreshing dose of reality.

I'd be afraid to breathe on it if it were actually worth that much.

I happen to have one that's exactly like that one in every way except 100 gms lighter, so in theory at least would make it worth even more. Believe it or not I actually lay sticks on it.

I brought it over to Steve Maxwell's just last Saturday so the boys over there could check her out.

I will say, regardless of value, I can't bear to see an instrument go unplayed any more than I can stand seeing an old car go undriven.

It deserves to be played! :)

Current gigging set:
Recent Ludwig Accent 13/16/18/26, (in Silver Sparkle), "updated" 70's Acrolite with cast batter hoop and Trick strainer/butt

Other stuff:

Two 1960's mahogany 32" Ludwig bass drums with Imperial lugs.

He's fishing again..

Maybe so. But every once in a while I've seen him catch a wopper.

One thing is for sure, if I had to spend 5K and my choice was between that old K or a new DW set, I'd pick the cymbal every time...
