I have just recieved some cymbals that have some names recorded under the bells of some of them. The names under the bells are Dave weckel? Vinny?Calutie? I,ll have to check them again for the spellings, as I haven,t really had time to inspect them properly.
I assume they are ink stamped signatures for the drummers that endorse the type of cymbals.
All the cymbals I have range from 21" heavy rides down to small crashes & splash cymbals. Makers are,( may not be spelled right),Zilgin & Zilgin K, Paistes, HH something or other,Sabians, china boys and other Hi Hat sets.
One matched pair of Hi Hats has wavy edges on the bottom hat, I,ve never played a set of those but intend to enjoy them.
Questions: Are the stamped signature cymbals worth more than regular non stamped cymbals. I would assume they are not, as both these drummers are well known and have probably endorsed many styles.
: What should I look for as far as age, or other unique qualities? I don,t have any knowledge of the collectable cymbals at all. Only the sounds that I know I like.
