Hello folks!

Does anybody know anything about Royal star drums, with this kind of badge on picture. i´ve been looking for 16" floor tom with this colour. I haven´t seen for sale even this colour drum or any colour with that kind of badge. All information is welcome.

This is a late 60s/early 70s Star made set (Star is the company that would later become Tama). Very nice wrap, too! It looks like this set is in great shape. Usually the badges were the more familiar black oval "World's Supreme Quality" types, but there are a few of these as well. This drum either has a thin 3 ply luan shell with re-rings or a 5-6 ply shell without rings.

What set are you looking to add a floor tom to? Remember, if the floor tom pictured is part of a set, as it looks to be, it's bad drum karma to break them up.

Good luck finding another, matching drum for this color wrap. There is a member here that is selling a complete kit in this color wrap. It is on consignment in LA. I think it is fishwaltz....

100 points, jonnistix!

That badge is a bit mysterious to me. My best guess is that it should be dated after the black oval STAR badge and before the silver round STAR badge. Time: perhaps 1969 to 1971, but maybe also parallel to the round silver badge = 'til the end of STAR = 'til 1973.

Hi jonni! Happy New Year to you!

Not LA but Fresno and yes... no bad karma here. I won't break up the set.

Check my website (link in my sig) for larger better detailed pix.

great drums! Those are little bit different (sharper) lugs than my set. I have 12" and 14" toms. Bd 20" original metal snare 14". And yes set is in great shape.

but I'd miss the 16 "tom, would sound more rock:)

Does not intend to break up the set. 16" tom would be a nice addition in set.

Cool kit! Yeah, a sixteen would be a great addition. Your lugs are the slingy copies. Mine are the teardrops. That's the only difference I see in the kit, other than the floor tom size. Looks like it's the same snare as well. Have you had the kit long?

Oh yeah, my lugs are offset as well... And the rack tom is a 13". Kit is a 20, 13, 16 with 14 X 5 snare.

I bought these drums 7 years ago. Couple gigs played and sounds great.

Drums were found in the warehouse and I got them cheap.

The only thing missing is cymbal holder, what is the bass drum on the side.

I have not found anything so I did it myself. I'm looking for some day the original.
