I have this cymbal with some old looking markings.

I put a photo as an attachment but it pretty small due to the compression.

The cymbal is an 18" crash ride with incredible sustain.

Hole in the top is irregular.

Two sets of markings.

Both sets are not clear.

As long as the hole isn't cracked and the cymbal is in good shape, it's worth around $500....

Sounds nice.

That's an Intermediate Stamp based on Drumaholic's chronology. The writing under the crescent moon say's "MADE IN TURKEY" Both sets of "marking's" together make up the cymbals stamp which changed from period to period and allowed Drumaholic to establish a timeline for their manufacture.

Assuming there are no cracks or damage you have a cymbals with value. Probably worth several hundred dollars.

You don't sound familiar with K Zildjians which were hand made in Turkey up until the late seventies when they were acquired by the Avedis Zildjian Co in the US.At that point they became more machine finished as time went on. Instanbul K Zildjians are prized cymbals and depending on size, weight, condition, and stamp, they can be worth up to around $3000 or more.

What if I told you that it weighed 1588 grams?

Do you think they'd pay $500 for it then?

to get that kind of coin, and i'm sure it's worth it. it will depend on the customer. guys looking for something like that. will know the value of vintage k's and probaly all ready has a few in his collection and they are very picky. i think your will command serious money if you are patient to wait for the right customer. good luck

I'm not that knowledgeable about old K pricing, especially for 18" crash/rides, but I thought $500 was low. I would think a Intermediate 18" weighing the 1588 you suggest would be closer to $800 or $900, and perhaps a bit more. What's your call?

I couldn't even get an 18" OLD STAMP to sell for that much let alone a new stamp. And I'm talking about was when the market was prime. And we all know its nowhere near where it was then today.

I saw a choice thin 18" new stamp get bid up to only $350 recently and then re-run due to a non-payer. The 2nd time it made it to only $400. And I think that one weighed in the neighborhood of the upper 1300's.

Thats actually encouraging. My son is looking for a thin 18" crash/ride and right now money is a bit tight but maybe an 18" won't break the bank.
