They've been around for decades. The modern pings are quite different from mine which is around 35 years old. Good pictures, especally of the stamp are needed.

Thanks for the quick response. The cymbal is a used one, not of the A Custom family. If I send you a pic of the stamp, you think you can tell me about how old it is? That would be great! I have played a couple of the new ones but never an 18". I'll get back to you with a picture.

BTW, we mean the stamp in the metal, not the inked logo. although that can be useful also. A picture of the lathing would also be useful.
