Hi rc im just not sure what era of heavy metal sound you are looking for.i also have a few concert tom kits one of them being a royalstar i tryed many different kinds of heads from the big three. pinstripe by remo is the standard sure bet, easy to tune. but what i recomend and use is Aqurian studio x's just a richer sound and looks cool to boot. if you go on you tube and check out some concert tom kit and listen to them and try to spot out what kind of head's go with that sound. of this helps

to me the heads can achive bright deep low's, not a thuddy low sound. and and you can tune fairly high without getting that classic over tuned /high pitched concert tom sound. im strange when it come to drum head i used diffrent types of head's for different drums. and my all time fav heads aquarian sk2 for bass batter and aquarian regulator in the front allways. for snare allways remo emp x reverse black dot. good luck on the heads you choose let me know what you came up with

Yea oh well this guy is located baker field and i have no way to get it from him except my brother but he's busy beside it is a 9 piece and this guy is just throwing at me that theres people offering 1600 for his tama imperialstar which its a lie and he's just a greedy guy. He is asking me to much for the trade, he wanted me to throw in my 500 dollars transmitter. Noway anyways I think i'm better off on a electric drum set. I live in a apartment so I'm better off with a roland ep drumset. But then again I would like a acoustic. I did tried the 599 electric kit from yamaha its pretty awesome blows away the cheap simmons drumset. It even sounded better then the 1,000 dollars simmon drumset.
