Those aluminum rings at the bottom they started putting on the 6 ply concert toms are riveted on. Your going to lose 1/2 " of shell if you cut it off....

Yep, Barkeepers friend , bathtub, warm water and plastic scrub brush. A little elbow grease and they will look like they just left the factory.
