it does not tighten to the shell? just to the l-arm that its holding. it does not endanger the bass drum in anyway/shape/form.

John Bonham also had one on his amber vistalite kit! all you gotta do (if you're worried about it) is tighten the H!@# outta that sucker! Yes Sir
