If i see any cob supras, i will let you know. They usually pop up here and when they do, i don't have the cash or i just picked up a snare or cymbal or a new kit. Yes, us southern boys need to stick together.

Keep me posted on that snare drum. I found someone in Melbourne that could have restored it back to its original glory. He has restored some early ludwigs, leedys and Slingerland snare drums. I bet those pioneers are beauties and sound very nice? I have a 1963, 4 digit supra, its a bit pitted, but its a very nice sounding snare and its my baby. I thought about having it rechromed or stripped and polished. but it sounds nice and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I actually got it from this forum 3 year ago. I just picked up a 1980 6.5 supra, which is heavily pitted and as ugly as gina rinehart....i am gonna have that fixed, as i cant take it out in public, its that ugly. I am after a cob suopra as well. The guy i got my supra from last week, has one and is slowly selling off his gear. His retiring and when he decides to part with it, his gonna let me have first go at buying it.

Started stripping off the existing snares yesterday so I can fit the new wire snares for tomorrow's studio time. I've got 6.5" 1960 and 5" 1961 Ludwig Pioneers as well which I'm selling but will be very interested in how this old girl sounds. I do like the Supras as well and recently sold a 5.5" 1965 model but the chrome was very poor and I'd like to keep an eye out for a brass model. Keep in touch mate - us Southern Hemisphere boys are in the minority!
