Thanks! The drums are in excellent condition considering they are over 30 years old. A few dings and dents in the finish plus pedal rash on the hoop but the bearing edges are perfectly smooth and the shells are in round.

Any insight into these is GLADLY welcomed.

Someone will likely chime in but looks like all Tama tom brackets, spurs and bass bracket, Tama used angled seams so the shells may be leftovers. And thus made in the USA. I've seen other threads on here about these, and they are always beautiful kits. Yours is no exception.

I owned one of these kits back in the day. Hoshino bought the rights to the Camco name and marketed the first "Camco" chain drive bass drum pedal and these "Camco" drum kits with the newly retooled lugs. This was right around the time when the LA Camco factory was acquired and developed into what is today the world renowned Drum Workshop Company (DW). If memory serves me they were in essence a Tama "Superstar" kit in 6-ply birch with newly designed lugs and Tama mounts. Even so they were a kit of equal quality to the other top of the line Tama kits in terms of sound and looks. Bear in mind that they are a completely "different animal" when compared to the real Camco drums in production starting with George Way and lasting up through the mid 1970's Los Angeles factory - kind of an anomaly in the history of Hoshino. I have no idea what value a fanatic collector would place on your kit. It is in remarkable condition considering the age and considering how few of those Tama spur and holder castings held up on the road. If I were you and still played drums I'd keep them. I seem to recall Billy Cobham appearing in several print ads endorsing them during the short time they were sold. It's nice to see them again and particularly nice to see your set in such "museum" quality!
