Clueless about these 65 slingerland drums

Loading...

Hello. I need a bit of help trying to determine what these old drums are worth if anything. I picked them up with good intentions at a yard sale about 30 years ago. I never got into it and neither have my now nearly grown children. The bass is 20 in. I hope the picts provide enough general info. Clearly there are some nicks and scrapes. The most annoying visual problem is two pieces of the gold flake band (total about 7 inches) around the front and rear rims are missing.

Any advice would be great

Ran out of photo space, but there is a Aug 65 stamped on the inside.

your kit is called the Be Bop kit model #62N here is a link to it, Pro drums by the way. The rim strips your referring to, that is very common for them to break.http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/slingerland_drum_sets/1967-slingerland-catalog9.jpg

Thanks!

So....How should I sell them? I have had some good and bad luck w both CL and Ebay. I also kind'a want a ballpark value...I admit to buying the set for less than 50 so I suspect that no matter what I sell them for I'll be doing just fine. Just looking for a price that will make both me and the buyer happy. BTW I live near central NJ.

Your allowed 5 pictures per post. Post more pics of the snare and hi hat cymbals. This will help everyone giving you info. If you plan to sell the other snare take some pics of it as well. The missing inlay in the hoops is not a big deal and the drums look like they are in nice shape. Good luck!

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Okay. The link you posted was to a configuration with a mounted tom. Just wondering if your link was the wrong one, or if there was a tom in the picture I didn't see, or if he had PM'd you and mentioned that he had the rack tom as well, or whatever...

your snare drum is the higher end Artist model, they sale in the $250.00+ range, the bass drum in the $200.00 to$225.00 range. the cymbals look to be zildjian A's would need to see a pic of the zildjian stamp to tell you that value of them, the hi hat stand $45.00 the bass drum pedal $30.00 or so. That is not a bad profit margin for your $5.00 investment.
