Need help to date and/or identify my snare

Loading...

I've had this snare for 20 years and have had no luck in finding info on it. Can anyone help me identify and date this drum? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

Any labels on the inside? - look through the vent hole.

What does it say on the bottom head?

I have an identical snare (with the same strap hook but missing the leg brace). These mustn't be too rare as I've seen them come and go on fleeBay in the Antiques/musical instruments catagory. My intention was to build a whole Dixieland set around this snare as this was probably the type of equipment those original Dixie players used. Let us know how yours sounds after re-heading.

Cool old snare! Love that label as well. Seems like there were quite a few music companies making stuff out of the Chicago area back in the day. Would love to hear how it sounds after re-heading, etc!
