Jazz sized Vistalite

I've got someone that has a red Vistalite in jazz sizes (18/12/14 and matching 14x5 snare). I've never seen these sizes before in these kits but was wondering if anyone else has?

Cheers!

Never play it the same way once.

I believe that Vistalites were available in any of the Classic sets of the time, & could also be special ordered in any configuration. I've seen 18" kits before, in Clear, & Green.

I have seen this set many years ago and it originally was in the hands of a dealer I believe. Same color combination and sizes

I would carefully look at the badges and know the difference from the fake ones to the real ones.

The owners of the fakes never realize it or even know that fake drums are out there.

Why are you raising suspicions that this may be a fake set ? Do you think it a Pearl set, or made of aftermarket shells ?

Well, I have not seen the red set in question - the R/C/B set photo in another post had raised some question at the time and why I responded.

I think prior to buying or investing in any Vistalite kit, knowledge is key because there are fakes out there.

Anytime I see rare sizes and color combinations, it sends up a red flag that they need to be looked at closely and with a discerning eye.

It is more of a general awareness when buying Vistalites to learn to spot the fakes.

Thanks for the heads up Dave.

I had a look and it looked legit to me. Apparently it's only ever had one owner, was in fantastic condition. The bass drum was actually 18x12 which I've never seen before either.

It's out of my price range and not what I'm really after at the moment anyway, I'm after another Rogers and a few other bits instead. Finding any of this stuff here in Australia is tricky though, thinking about coming for a trip to the US for a look around in the not so distant future. I've been told I'll come across some pretty amazing stuff in places you wouldn't expect too.
