Now that they are tucked away in the basement, I figured a new thread was in order. Thanks to everyone who replied to my earlier posts.
This old goat was listed locally on Craigslist with a couple of crappy pictures. It is rough, but not just your run of the mill abused-by-a- teenager rough. Imagine if you can: It was played hard, stored in a pickup without cases and hauled in and out of honky tonk bars for 30 years.
8x12, 9x13, 16x16 and 14x22 - All serial numbers in the 617xxx range
17" Zildjian Crash and 20" Zildjian ride (very heavy), 14" Camber Hats
Pitted supra, serial number 125xxx
Very heavy vintage Tama stands and BD pedal.
Odd sized Playa Roto Toms, 5 1/2, 7 1/2 & 9 1/2
Freebies: cigarette burns and the worst tom rash I have ever seen (right through the wrap). MIJ floor tom brackets and legs. Bass drum interior is painted black. The seller swears that it is original, because his brother got the drums new and he remembers that the black was already there. To my eye, it looks original or it was professionally applied early on.
More to follow, with questions.
