Body Shop - Spectra Chrome?

Any body shop guys have the insight on this process? Cost for materials. I was wondering if it would work for supra shells and drum parts?

My only concern would be the thickness of the finish. It does look like a lot is being applied, though the video could be deceiving.

Current gigging set:
Recent Ludwig Accent 13/16/18/26, (in Silver Sparkle), "updated" 70's Acrolite with cast batter hoop and Trick strainer/butt

Other stuff:

Well it's not chrome plating so aren't you altering the shell from it's original state and affecting the value. Let the debate begin.

I think the process is better than the traditional chrome plating. I've seen it applied to fabric and not flake, peel, or crack. So I think it would resolve some of the issues related to what I've seen on older shells and what some here have attributed in weather/temperature change related pitting.

Where are they located? I have an Acro that I would use for a test run.

It looks like a 3-step spray process, hard to tell for sure. Mainly used on cars, rims and other chromed car parts.

Interesting if anyone has or can test this system on a drum shell.

Very Interesting! I wonder if the statue is electro charged to attract what she is spraying. I also wonder how they keep it from running, as much as she is spraying on the statue. I have a friend that has a fish tank he chromes small parts in. I have investigated chrome plating. What I found out is. If you do it in your garage and someone finds out, you are in deep shi* The chemical is extremly toxic. its the same thing that Erin Brockavich won all that money form a huge corportion for all those people. A chrome acro would be double cool!!!!

It's not a plating process so they don't have to electro-charge, and they do spray a fair amount of the atomized product on and you can see it running off in the process.. not sure how it doesn't make run marks though..

Must be alchemy... burn those witches!
