Can someone give me a little information on this set of drums. They were given to my 14yo son a few years back he now has a new gretsch kit.

I wish someone would give ME a gift like that!

It's a Slingerland kit (obviously), made between 1937 & 1943 judging by the badge style. The toms have tacked resonant heads, similar to the Radio King set pictured HERE in the 1941 catalog. The tacked heads make the kit as a whole more of a collector's item than a playable set, but the single-ply maple Radio King snare (looks like the Hollywood Ace model shown HEREto be specific) is a sought-after drum and should tune right up and sound great.

Oh, and I almost forgot... Welcome!

this drumset is where the Name Radio King came from, this is a Radio King drumset, it's at least a 1940 model. the snare drum is a 7x14" radio king, 9x13",12x14", toms, along with a 14x16 floor tom, that was probably mounted on a cradle stand, 14x28" bass drum, the color is called black gold duco! I own a 1930's version of this very same kit!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
