Default 1970/71 Slingerland Sparkling Purple Pearl
Hello all-- Haven't been here in a bit, but have a kit for sale, and would like to see if any of y'all are interested in it.

1970/71 Slingerland (Rare!) Sparkling Purple Pearl - 13"x9", 16"x16", 22"x14" in 9.9/10.0 condition. All original wrap and hardware. (I have the other two bass drum t-rods, simply replaced the two to make attaching the pedal a bit easier.) Note the virgin kick drum as well!

Honestly the only blemish I can find on the whole thing is a little bit of wear on the top of the kick where someone must have kept a stick or two while playing. The marks are so subtle that I can't get a good photo of them at all. Small amount of pedal rash, but it's minimal, as I kept one of those little hoop saver pads on it.

The badges are a little bent from catching and pulling on carrying bags etc, but could easily be straightened and fixed.

I had the bearing edges recut by Jeff Kirsch with Kirsch Drums up in Portland, OR a year or two back, as the edges definitely needed some TLC-- the floor tom had a decent sized cut out of the bearing edge on the batter side, and was really difficult to tune. His work is incredible, and the drums now sound and tune like a dream!

Here's a link to the Dropbox with various other shots in it.

I'd like to get $1400 plus shipping for these, or I can meet you if you're anywhere near Lubbock, TX. I can drive 4 hours or so in any direction to facilitate the deal!

Please let me know if you have any questions!!

Yeah-- quite the eye-catcher for sure. Under lights she really SHINES!!

I got laid off two months ago, and since I'm not playing as much as I used to, this is one of the things I'm trying to move to make up for some bills... sucks, but life can be like that sometimes, huh?

Good luck with your sale... that's one of the cleanest Slingerland kits I've seen on here.... enough to change my mind on purple kits also..

Nice pics and presentation as well...

Link it to the Slingerland snares and drums FB page... they'll go bananas,,

Cheers
John

I have just plain ol white wrap of these, same time period and they're awesome sounding.
Big and round and smooth. Like the late great Barry White...

Hi Mr. Drummy, I'm new here and wondered if you were able to sell them? I have a four-piece 1970-71 Sparkling Purple Pearl set and an aluminum Slingerland snare, all with silver & black Niles badges that I am thinking of selling. Have just started doing the research.

I hope things are going your way. It sucks when there's layoffs.
