Hello,
perhaps other producers also had those 'plastic ring bearing edges', but this snare drum reminds me - somehow - to a Van der Glas snare drum, I owned before: http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=13469 Cheers, Ralf

Thanks for the input RALF.. GREEN GLASS ..AND KEVINS. Ive actually just bought the drum from this guy. These are the pics from the advert so once i get it i will show more detail with a full strip down. If you look inside on pic 1 to the left there is some writing. I cant make it out. Also butt and strainer how cool do they look. They look solid and i must admit never seen em in my life time. The lugs ive seen but just cant place them. Tension rods to me look british. The damper so cool what is that about sort of swings into position. The re rings are wood and painted white with a split in one which is an easy fix. One last point the beading on the outside round the middle making the drum look fab. I bought the drum because its so cool and unusual. The hoops are 10 hole solid cast. I think it could be a proto type that just costed too much to produce. The build looks classy of the 30's or maybe 40's. Im sure someone will chime in with the details....Thx...sean.

The previous owner seems to think the drum came from the 30's made in england with the slotted rods. Still a mystery to me. Once i get it delivered ill take it apart to show in more detail.

The tension rods, lugs and hoops appear to be early Premier.
Possibly a Premier Dominion http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=92242
