Jeniffer,

First, to the forum! What you have there is a 1965-66 Rogers Student model. It was an entry-level snare designed for the beginner. Note that Rogers entry-level snares were still very high quality and used the same shells as their more expensive snares. The Student model had only 6 lugs and a rather inexpensive snare strainer or "throw-off" mechanism. Your snare has Rogers triple-flanged hoops. The earlier 1964 Student model pictured below used a less expensive hoop and clip system.

Value? Rogers drums from that era are highly collectable, but unfortunately there is not a lot of demand for that particular model. If listed online at auction, you might see it sell in the $100-150 range, but again, it would depend upon how many people were actually interested in that model.

Just my

Mike

They sold for 60.00 new in 65. Which would be $455.00 today. Value is 100-150.

Hi Jeniffer...and to the forum!

You've received excellent information. I'd like to add that the model number you mentioned, 6383, is simply the serial number.

Is that not a Luxor valued at around $150?

I believe the only difference between the Student and the Luxor (both six-lugs) was the strainer, and since Jennifer never showed a pic of the strainer, all we have to go by is her shot of the Cleveland label with "STUDENT" printed as the model...

Didn't all the student models have single flanged hoops and clips?
