Default Vintage 60s Crown snare drum 5.5x14

I have a Crown snare drum for sale. It's in pretty decent shape for it's age. Been stored away for quite some time and figured I would offer it up for sale.

I don't know a heck of a lot about these. In fact, most of what I learned was through this forum.

Anywho. I have it on eBay and Reverb. Here's the reverb.com listing.

One of my favorite sellers. You had some nice snares offered up a few years back and good prices too. Quality stuff. Love the badge in this one!

Crown is one of several badges that seems to have been shared by more than one Japanese manufacturer. This drum appears to me to be Hoshino, (not the Star/Tama one). Do the lugs have springs, or are they the slot type?

I have a 6-lug Crown snare drum with the same badge and lugs. The lug inserts are the "slot" type...and prone to breaking the lugs if over tightened. Very common on snare drums. I have 5 broken lugs! I have 6 cosmetically identical lugs, but with "normal" inserts and springs that I will be installing. Fortunately, the lugs on my bass drum and rack tom are all perfect!

Mark is right, these are the slot type. All are in fine functioning condition though. No broken lugs here. Course it hasn't been played for quite some time. Just sitting around collecting dust. Thanks for the info and input. Much appreciated.

Update: the drum "sold" through reverb but I had a dead beat buyer who was unresponsive and didn't pay within 48 hours. I cancelled the transaction, reposted it and updated the link.

I also have a little bit of local craigslist interest. We'll see if it pans out.

That is a beautiful snare. What is that mount on the side though? I've never seen that before.

Nice snare . That mount on the side was for a cymbal arm that would have been found on student kits.
