I just acquired this 7 line Dyna-Sonic and am wanting to know its age. I think (or hope!) from similar threads that I've seen on the Forum that it was probably manufactured in the mid-to late sixties? However, I know there are a few Rodgers Gurus out there who can more closely define the year. It has the oval badge and is serial number 7960.

Serial number #7960 puts your Dynasonic squarely in 1966. Nice drum!

Excellent! Thank you sir. Best I can tell the snare bridge and parts look to be original. I have a question for you Tommyp. Some of the round head screws on the strainer and the two that fasten the badge are rusty...best to restore or replace?

mduke51!
That's kinda your call as most all the screws/fasteners Rogers used back in the day were standard size stuff... for the most part. The barameter for me I guess would be: Are the screw heads nice, or are they mangled? If they are NICE, you can simply remove them and clean/buff with #0000 steel wool... screws ONLY!, not the actual drum of course. That will remove most ALL the rust and bring them back to just about NEW. It's a snare frame actually, not a bridge... but a lot of guy's call it that. ENJOY!!

PS: I have a 1965 7 line/COB Dynasonic. It's a beautiful drum! I'll attach a few pics.
I'll join the 7 line club.....with rusty badge screws as well Excited
Me too-but i love my 7-line as i`ve had her since 1967 and even with a little brown on the screws -it`s all minor patina as long as she still plays and sounds like a dyna should...hey it`s all good.
