my best day EVER being a trucker. being from canada i took a trip tp milwaukee. i got off the beaten path and stop at street corner to try to figure out how to get back on track. while sitting there in my truck reading my map. i looked up at this old brick wall and seen some old faded hand painted sign that said faust drum shop. and i just started to smile and said to my self that must of been on hell of a drum shop in its day. falling behind in my delivery. i did the right thing i got out of my truck to go take a look at the rest of the building just incase. much to my surprise there were vintage drums in the window and the sign said closed and by appointment. i must have stood there and gawk at the drums in the window for a good while. just as i was ready to leave i see and old man with very black hair walking across the street he come's up to me and ask's do i play the drum's. i said yes and he ask's what brand i play i told him sonor he justs smiles back and invites me to check the store. wow guy's a real trip back in time you dream it he's got it. he took the time to show me pic of him with buddy louie all the greats and even with jimi hendrixs when he sold him a flying v gib and we talk about sonor drums cause that's what he plays and he was very intersted about canadian culture. and as for wheeling and dealing with the man a real gentelman i thought some of his prices were on the low side . and the deal he gave me in the end. it made for a very expensive snare cause after spending so much time in his store i mad dash it out of there got a speeding ticket and a fine from my company for being so very late

I have bought several items from Faust Music, (my last a set of Sonor Force 2003) and have always appreciated Bill's cantankerous attitude and way of doing things. He has put in his time and doesn't feel the need to wait on people that waist his time.
Being able to spend time in a store like that with an extremely knowledgeable person is an experience that is hard to come by this days. You must show respect to receive respect at Faust's. If you are able to get past the fact that he is not there to "wait" on you you will see a side of Mr Faust that will endear you to him and the unique experience that is shopping there. |
