Default My collection of 400 Ludwig snares

No, I don't have 400 Ludwig snares. I have 2 Ludwig 400's. Made ya look.
The one on the left is brass the other is a 65 Supra-Phonic

Beauties! How do you like the die cast hoop on the one?

Good eye! I've since replaced that hoop with a COB hoop. Subtle difference to my ear.

If you prefer a brass snare there's none better than the Super Ludwig.

Sooo jealous! I want a Trans badge super though. Once I finish restoring my psych kit, i'm gonna use it to fund one. I used a rogers dyna without the frame for a while and loved it. But I want a ludwig brass...

Rogers Dyna-sonic without the snare frame can sound almost as nice as the Super. Brass is brass after all. The main difference is that one has COB hoops, the other has COS hoops. Both great sounding drums!
