Default Rogers local find

Found this kit local, sold it to a collector wanting a player's kit who was not pleased that it needed too much work, and have since cleaned it up. 13 16 22 with matching snare.

Nice kit, but I'm not sure I understand, you bought the kit, then sold it to a collector who wanted a players kit, but he thought it needed too much work, so you cleaned it up? Did he sell it back to you?

I'm with Mark, Manny. Are you now selling it or just giving us a viewing? Either way, it's real pretty! Red onyx is my favorite color.

I had a similar one to yours a couple of years back. Now I've got a '64 in 20, 13, 16 that I got from Steve Maxwell and a '68 in 20, 12, 14 I got from a forum member through and eBay auction.

Sorry gents...sold it to someone who was not happy with it, they sent it back to me, and I have since cleaned it up.

I understand now. I'm sure you had it priced accordingly, but when he said he wanted a "Players" kit, what he really meant was, I want an almost mint kit at a players grade price so I can re-sell it for a profit without having to fix it up.
Rule number uno, never sell to a collector, especially one that says he wants a players kit.

By the way, welcome back to the forum Manny. I haven't noticed a post for quite a while. I gather you are mostly on Facebook these days, but good to hear from you.

Here's a summer picture of the kit I got from you last year. Quite unfortunate about the wrap, but its a great set for enjoying a bit of drumming in the shed I fixed up at my place in Maine. Thanks again for the great pricing and quick shipping.

Great looking drums Dan and the shed turned out super nice, I love it! Looks like a real cool place to play and not bother anyone.

Manny, you kit is gorgeous as well, are you selling it?

Thanks Jeff. The shed was probably close to a tear-down, but I have a tendency to try to save things. I plan to fully insulate it this summer and install soundproofing to protect the neighbors. Should work because they have already said that they only get a faint sound when I play.

Savings things goes for drums too. Up close, the black onyx set has seen better days, but I have become quite fond of the 20, 13, 16 layout over the past few years. Manny gave me a great deal on it and the only thing that is not original is one set of claws and rods that were missing. I got a correct set off eBay for short $$. If the wrap had not become a problem, it would have been a collector piece based on the condition of the rest of the kit. I figured I'd do it over in jet black eventually, but for now it's fine given it's not being played out.

So Manny, inquiring minds want to know what you are going to do with the red onyx set??????

Cool shed...but I kinda liked the Deliverance/Slingblade (I call it a Kaiser blade) vibe of the old look.
