Default Rare 1972 Premier 303 for restoration

Just picked up this gorgeous Premier 303 dated 1972. The kit was purchased this week from a closet for $180!

It is only missing a few slotted t-rods and wing nuts. Configured in 20,16,14,14,12 with die-cast hoops and 3-ply African Mahogany with solid Beech re-rings, it has a warm vintage tone. It even came with the original slotted Premier drum key!

The snare has the nice parallel strainer.

Yes, those are the lovely flat based snare, hi hat and cymbal stands!
The only problem with the original "Silver Star" wrap is that the previous owner's baby daughter had peeled off the silver in some spots on the bass drum

the kit is quite dirty but I will enjoy fixing up this vintage piece.

Any suggestions about the wrap will be appreciated

cheers!

~Kelly

I would just like to comment on the apparent sadism you display in not posting a pic.....

Sorry Jaye, I can be a little sadistic at times here

Here is the pic. Just as she was found!
Please comment if you care to on the Silver Star wrap. Is it available anywhere?

I agree with dukekamaya...If you go on FB lots of help and info. Get hold of mike ellis blenheim drums or nick hopkins in UK. These guys have every single thing you need premier. Also ebay shed loads of premier stuff especially in the UK. As for the wrap very common over here. You get lots of orphan drums. If it were mine id pick up a couple of premier drums with same wrap and piece the bass drum up. If done right you would not be able to tell. The top layer is a type of foil. Ive even restored a floor tom with similar issue as your bass drum. I piece that type of finish from lug to lug and it is a great hardly no trace finish. That was pieced from another drum. When i say use another drum im actually meaning a drum with lots of issues not a perfect drum. The stands are all lokfast probably one of the nicest flush base stands even by todays standards. I wouldnt re wrap drums as IMO the rest look in nice shape for year. Great buy and there is definitely a nice profit in the purchase. Your kit could look like the pic from catalogue once cleaned up. Just need all the hardware. Also pic of colour chart.....silver star finish.
