Default Ludwig B/O COW kit pricing help needed.

Happy Hollidays everyone! Hopefully this post finds you resting up from yesterday’s airing of grievances and feats of strength. I know I am a little sore from being pinned (again) by my 80 year old Dad. I am looking here for some help pricing a kit...

Ludwig round badge kit that dates at right around 1980.
12,13,18,22 chromed stainless wrap over 6ply maple

Condition details...
Wrap has a few minor scratches, and some overall “sparkly-ness” but looks perfect from a few feet away. Rivets are all right and tight.
Dampeners are in perfect shape.
All badges are in great shape and show serial numbers that indicate it was likely ordered as a set.
Lugs, claws, and mounts show no pitting whatsoever.
Reso side rims have been replaced and new tension rods used on them.
Bearing edges are great and drums are round.
New rubber feet on spurs and floor tom legs.
Bass hoops were sanded and painted and now look like new.
NOS chrome dot heads on toms.

I don’t really want to get rid of it, but a friend has been hounding me, and to quote my wife, I have “too many drums.” I find dealing with friends difficult. I want to give him a good deal, but if I price it way below market, then I might as well be giving him a gift worth hundreds...he’s a good guy, I’d gladly pick up his check for wings and beer, but not someone I’d normally give an expensive gift to.

I have a number in mind, but there are not too many recent online sales to compare to. What do you think? Thanks in advance for your help!

It's probably a bit easy to get a barometer on the price if you stated what number you do have in mind.

Thanks for the input Jaghog.
Hoppy, I purposely kept my number to myself so it would not influence other’s opinions. If my number is way off of the estimates I get from VDF members, then I will feel comfortable changing it.

Fair enough!

Two things stand out at me as a lower value, although the 12"/13"/22" seem pretty standard combo, pairing it with the 18" doesn't seem to be the best/most popular choice in floor toms compared to a 16". Also, you mentioned rivets, which again isn't the most popular/desirable era for Ludwig finishes. This may be why you're having trouble locating comparable sales and might warrant a price to reflect a kit that isn't in high demand.

If it were mine, I'd be happy to get around $500 for it. COW wrap with rivets is not an easy sale.

$700-$800 is fair to me. If they were power toms the price would be lower.

Merry Christmas to all who have chimed in...to the rest of you Ba Humbug! Just kidding. I always appreciate the wisdom of the VDF.
It is interesting that the opinions on the 18in floor tom are split. I thought it would definitely increase the value, same with the rivets, I think those give it an industrial aerospace vibe like some of the modern all metal Q kits. But hey, that’s exactly why I posed the question.
Enjoy the holidays everyone!
