another cool thing about Bob Mckee, He also studied with Roy knapp in Chicago, just like Gene did.

Thanks for the story and pictures. Neat to see stuff like that. If the cymbal were mine I don't think I could part with it but maybe put it on display somwhere. Sentimental value would out weigh cash value to me.

IMHO that cymbal should be donated to the Smithsonian. They have one of GK's kits and that cymbal would add to the display.

A lot of drummers claim that their drum teacher is the drummer on the cover of the 1960's Rogers catalog, but it turns out to be Bob McKee who is very good friends with Roy Burns.

I know this to be true also. I was told it was Bob by Chet Luty, a Rogers endorser back in the day. Chet was another working drummer who sold drums out of the old Higbees in the square. He spent a lot of time at the Rogers bldg (now Jacobs field parking garage) as it was a short walk from the square.
