Re: Help identifying 60s/70s Premier kit please
You have the bass drum set up backwards!..Mount should be near the front!
Serial numbers on badges?..1970 onwards..if so... Lokfast Mount came out in 73..so..kit is before that.... Snare looks like Brushed Chrome....is there WOOD inside the shell?..If so..a rare,Resonator snare!

I think that bass is right way round. Could be a 13" tom so that makes it after 1971.

Re: Help identifying 60s/70s Premier kit please
Look at the catalogs.....they show it other way round,....
OOPS..I stand corrected. MOST show the mounts up front...I see one.....shows it in back! Also..I have a ...“New for 72”... brochure...Here they mention a 13 by 9 tom

Looking closer...I see the spurs up front..normal position...so..this must be one of the unusual ones with mount near back....

Re: Help identifying 60s/70s Premier kit please
if the bass drum is 20", as I suspect, it's a 303 outfit. If it's 22" it's a a B303. My guess is the toms are 12" 14" and 16" making it pre 72 (when the 13" tom was made available as mentioned) but no earlier than around 69 with the 8 lug international sized floor tom. Probably birch with beech rings. If it's the darker mahogany then closer to 1972. The snare is most likely a 2000 model. I would normally expect to see Lokfast stands with this kit but it looks to have the earlier stuff.
Looks like a very nice kit |
