Default Vintage Premier HiFi Snare 14x5,5 1968

Attic found. Iconic vintage Premier HiFi Snare dum from 1968. 14x6.5

Pittings and a bit rusty but all original damper and snare throw off. Its nearly 50 years old. With a bit of a TLC could be a fantastic snare drum which could sell for 200+.

priced low due to "non clean" condition.

See pictures.

Included the drum key "British Made" came with it from the 1960s. Really cool!

that is not a Hi-Fi I'm afraid. It looks like a Premier 1005 which will be steel. These are a lower line Premier model. Where did you get 1968 from?

With all due respect, the drum you describe is in no way, shape, form, or fashion a 1960's Premier HiFi Snare. It is a much later manufactured basic student model Premier (likely 1980's) with a welded steel shell. Neither is it 6 1/2" in depth - it's 5 1/2" deep.

The only vintage items of real value shown are the 60's era rounded tone control tension knob, and the drum key itself which is likely 1950's or earlier.

1960's Premier drums were manufactured with heavily chromed slot-head tension rods and die-cast hoops, and your drum shows the lesser made square head rods and steel triple flanged hoops. The badge also reveals a drum made much later than the 1960's, as does the flimsy snare throwoff.

The drum key, if the slot driver is not broken, is probably worth more than the drum itself. Very clean, excellent condition drums of the same model as shown in your photographs, are readily available, complete with basic stand, rubber practice pad, and hard case for approximately $100 USD and often for much less here in the USA.

Even with that, however, the drum properly cleaned and set up is a quite decent snare drum suitable for all purpose performance. I've owned several of them, and they're quite underrated. They've excellent projection and a full rich tonality.
