Default Camco Snare "Made in Japan" question

Hi guys,

I came across this snare and tried to find out about its "heritage" in the 80s via google. But after hours of searching, I only was able to finde "Made in USA" badges like this.

Can anyone tell me something about the snare? it was sold with a Tama Imperialstar Set back in the days.

It's a Tama-built snare from when they bought the Camco name-pre DW.

This is how far I got - but do you know the difference in case the same badge shows "Made in USA"?

They look similar, but, no, not the same. Here's a picture of the lug on my CB-700 Parallel Lay snare drum.

I wonder which series/quality level the drum can be assigned to. Is it a normal middle-class snare? It came with the die cast hoops and is very heavy (probably due to the lugs).

To me it looks to be on par with an Imperialstar snare with the CL strainer. I think it has the same seamless steel shell, only the lugs and badge are different. So quality wise about the same, value wise that's up to the seller/buyer. It's rare nevertheless.

Thank you very much for the hints. As it was sold with an old imperialstar, i guess that quality indication makes sense. It indeed has a seamless shell, however, the chrome quality is not good anymore (see pic).

Thank you again!
