Default Ginger Baker dead at age 80!

I wasn't sure where to post this. I'm sure that many of you had already heard that he passed away today, but I'm posting for those who haven't.

For many of us rock guys, it was Baker, not Bellson, who inspired us to convert to double-bass kits back in the day. And how about his unique version of cymbal stacking before there was such a thing. GB certainly left an impressionable mark on drumming history.

"John Bonham was technically good, but he couldn't swing a sack of 5hit".. Direct quote from Ginger Baker..Personally, I thought he was an arrogant, pompous, technically weak drummer, not worthy of Bonzo's toe nail, but as he has passed on, I will show respect and wish he rests in peace. Just pointing out the facts, folks. Let the animosity begin. Just kidding guys !

Saw him with Cream on their "farewell" tour and again in 2014 with his Jazz Confusion group. One Of A Kind...

Im not shedding any tears over here, I was never impressed, sunshine of your love sounds like a wet cardboard box getting hit with a tennis racket.

Ginger Baker was a master drummer and deserves his place in history as one of the greats. He may have been a troubled soul and as a result said and did some questionable things, but I don't understand how you can fault him for his playing.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
