Speaking of people who don't seem to know how to describe what they have in their adds. New auction on eBay for a Rogers "Spotlight" including bass, tom and snare. However, the pictures show a 20,13,16 Swingtime with bass, tom and floor tom.

They need to spend a little time here on the forum.

Further to this WMP Dynasonic in Chicago, I see that as a legitimate drum according to the following observations:

1. The WMP is the correct pattern and has a fade that would be very difficult to fake.
2. The seam in the wrap is where it belongs, under the lug centerline just to the right of the oval badge.
3. The hoops and rods are correct for early Fullerton. Not how the seats of the hoops are slightly rounded versus early Cleveland/Dayton hoops that are flatter at that location. Rods are not square-cut at top - slight blip at each side about half way up, correct washers underneath, and the amount of threading is correct.
4. Correct bridge and snares for the era.
5. Older drum head on top with what looks like a drum store logo and same drum store logo on resonant head.
5. Serial number right on for 1970 at 22090
6. Chrome plated grommet at the badge, not a newer polished aluminum, which is the only one currently available for a rewrap job.

Seems all to add up to nice drum to me, and I would have leaped on it. Will show up soon on eBay, no doubt.

Could be.

If it was close to home, I would have given it a look see.

And wow, didn't realize wood Dyna's were going for so much on eBay. A few asking prices around 3200. I'm guessing real prices for a more common wrap wood Dyna might be in the 1500-2000 range?

I think I'd have to sell a few drum sets to afford one nice wood Dyna!

And since the only difference between a nice $300 COB Dyna and a nice $1300 Wood Dyna is the shell, I guess that shell is worth $1000 by itself!
