1960 Rogers 14x14 Floor tom
Hi folks!
I have a 1960 Rogers 14x14 floor tom in jet black that I would like to trade for the same drum in blue sparkle. This drum is the Jasper shelled drum with the flat bearing edges. I have a blue sparkle 12/16/22 Jasper shelled Rogers kit that I would like to complete with a matching 14" floor tom. I would hate to rewrap this drum, so I would be more than willing to trade this guy for one in blue sparkle. Bobby at Jollity Drum Farm has one, but he's got it connected to a kit and doesn't want to split it from the set, so I'll have to look elsewhere! Any leads would be more than appreciated! Thanks Luke

Re: 1960 Rogers 14x14 Floor tom
I am in need of a 14x14 Jet Black floor tom with bread and butter lugs like yours. I have a set that does not have the right floor tom. I will look for the Blue Sparkle. If you find one and want to simply sell the black 14x14, I am interested. My set has a Pirate badge on the 12" tom and the snare and a script badge on the bass. I bought a 16x16 floor tom with beavertail lugs until a drum like yours becomes available.
Keep me in mind. I will be on the lookout for your blue sparkle floor tom and let you know if I find it. Rick

It sounds like you're in a very similar boat as me... My blue sparkle kit from 1959 has the transition badges (aka the leftward leaning badge) and I would love to find a matching 14x14 floor tom for that kit. It's damn near impossible, so I'm settling for a regular script badge one as well, as long as it has blue sparkle wrap and the flat bearing edges. I don't necessarily have the money to go out and buy one, which is why I have the black one up for trade. You're definitely first on the list for this drum if I can find a blue sparkle 14" tom. If you can find a blue sparkle one, we can definitely work something out with my black one! I appreciate you keeping an eye out for the drum, you're #1 on the list! Luke

Here is my set. Lefty set up. I need a few small pieces and a thorough cleaning. Examples of the two badges are attached. I think that what I am calling the Pirate badge is what you are calling the transition badge.

Re: 1960 Rogers 14x14 Floor tom
Rogers had two transition badges between the Eagle badge and the regular script badges - the Pirate badge, which is what is on yours, and then the left leaning badge, which is on mine. Both of these were used between 1959 to 1960, so they were both "transition" badges.
