I missed out on a similar set a couple years ago. It was in a music store in Dubuque, Iowa. It had already been sold ($1800) but not picked up yet. No fading of the Green either that I could see. Someone had literally walked in the front door a couple weeks before and said they had a drum set out in the car that they wanted to get rid of. I wish I had happened to be there that day (I only get up that way about once a year).

A week after I was there the set was still listed on the store's website and I immediately called, frantically hoping that somehow the deal had fallen through, but it was just an oversight that it hadn't been pulled from the used listings on the site.

Oh well, can't win them all. All I have to show for it is a washed out cell phone pic. (although I did score a Psych Red set about a year ago so all's well that ends well).
Wow that's cool Kevin! Too bad you missed that one! A B/O badge one to boot. I don't think I have ever seen a B/O badge psych red club date. I actually found my 71 mod orange club date on here. Someone had posted a pic of it asking questions and I freaked when I saw it. I freaked even more when I discovered that the poster only lived about 10 minutes away from me. After checking the set out I ended up trading an old 60's 22" Istanbul K Zidjian for it. It worked out good for us both as he was able to sell the K for good money but when I found out that he grabbed them at a yard sale 15 min from my house for $300 I couldn't believe it....

I donít get why the cymbal mount is cringeworthy?

I believe he is referring to the one on the TOP of the bass drum.
Club Dates did not have this so it was added making this kit unoriginal, adding extra holes & no where near what this dreamer is asking.
And he dreams big.
But we can all dream can't we?

I actually did too but glad I saw it when I went back.
The 50's kits (ala Buddy Rich) has dual cymbal mounts on the bass drums but this was def added and I personally hate when one is added to the top of the bass drum.

I thought only those crossing the border illegally had dreams.

Rare? Sure. $4500 rare? No way. The seller is delusional.

The mount up top must have been a popular mod back in the day. Not only did my clubdate suffer the double tom mount, it also got a mount up top as well. Luckily for me the center post mount was drilled right where the rail went. The person I got the set from scanned the faded mod orange, covered the hole with the scan and a piece of clear plastic that is held in place with the correct rail mount. Honestly it's kind of hard to tell that a hole is really there. Had the double tom mount been centered, this trick would not have worked at all.... Why can't people just leave things alone?? Lol...
