Default And another -- what's this?

I'm guessing a Gretsch floor tom muffler.
Whatever it is, I may modify it to use on a felt muffler strip that came in a box of part. Thick felt, with three holes in one end, that's cut at an angle.
??

Ya, that's a Gretsch muffler where the original felts have gone missing and someone tried that abomination as a "fix". Some people's kids

Well, sometimes you gotta go with what you got!
What would the correct pad look like? One big oblong o' felt?

It looks like a Gretsch "Pratt" bass drum muffler to me.

I just checked Steve Maxwell's site. He has a repro Pratt. Yes, the part I have is that... missing a couple of parts. But they wouldnt be hard to fabricate. ...
