Default '72 Premier 303 (22/14/12) + '65 Slingy Hollywood Ace - SOLD!

Hi Folks,

I've had some interesting trade offers, but figured I'd officially list my Premier kit for sale. I am ready to put together another kit but my chief of finance has requested I make funds available prior to any sort of purchase. :-)

The Premier shell-pack consists of a 22" BD, 14" FT, and 12" RT. The original snare (and stand) got separated from the kit some years ago. I am the second owner of these drums. I'm including a 1965 Slingerland Hollywood Ace snare, which I have been playing with the kit for a few years. The WMP wrap is a very close match to the Premiers and sounds great with the kit. If someone really wanted the Premier drums and not the snare, I would be willing to sell separately.

My original plan was to rewrap all 4 drums to match, but they look totally presentable as-is. The main reason for considering a rewrap is that the wrap on the BD has split (see photo below). I simply used some packing tape as a temporary means of helping the wrap lie flat, but it has served well. I'm sure this diminishes the collector value of the kit, but this is an unrestored, player's kit that still turns heads.

Also included in the sale price of the kit is the original flat-base hi-hat stand, telescoping cymbal arm, throne, Slingy BD pedal, 3 fiber cases (BD, FT, RT), and a trap case (for snare and hardware). There are also two (2) Premier slotted drum keys that convey with the kit. The cymbals and snare drum stand in the pictures are not included in the sale.

The only bits missing from the kit are one (1) floor tom leg wing-screw, and the wing screw for securing the telescoping boom arm. The "inner" arm can be adjusted up and down just fine, but the "outer" arm is currently secured by gravity. :-) There are also two tension rods missing on the FT.

As for asking price, let me throw a number out there and y'all can tell me if I'm way off-base. I'm more than happy to adjust the price and do what I can to work with a buyer. I am located in central North Carolina and willing to drive 3-4 hours to help someone avoid shipping costs by meeting 1/2 way. I'm also willing to pack them as economically as possible to ensure they arrive safely, but shipping will be at the buyer's expense.

I'd like to ask $800 for the kit and Hollywood Ace as described above. I'd be willing to sell the kit for $600 and the Hollywood Ace for $200. All four drums are in great condition, with the exception of the BD wrap (which I realize is a big deal aesthetically and diminishes the overall value of the kit). I'd also welcome and appreciate honest feedback of my asking price. Also happy to answer questions and provide more pics as needed. Thanks in advance!

Any thoughts/input on asking price? I have pretty thick skin, so feel free to fire away. :-) I am motivated to sell, so hoping that some constructive input might help these drums go to a good home soon. TIA!

My wife used to sell real estate and told me when a house stops getting showings, it's usually because it's priced too high. I'd really like these drums to go to a new home. Any takers at $700?

The drums sold locally to a really nice guy. He's making the switch from bass to drums and after 18 months he already sounds like he's been playing a lifetime. Happy to see these go to a good home!

Certain brands look real good in WMP.....Prems being one...

Wish I would have had the loot...I would have grabbed....

Nice kit!
