Hi,
Thanks for any assistance here... What's the value: Vintage 1969-1970 Ludwig Drums “Hollywood” 5 pc set with vintage Zyldjian cymbals and hardware Sky Blue Pearl Finish Shell Construction = maple /poplar/ maple with the natural finish Manufactured in Chicago, classic Blue/Olive metal plates Original owner and never professionally played… although they have been moved a bit, they are in very good to excellent condition. Original construction and wraps. They spent most of the time in their respective storage cases. Some drum heads are original and some have been replaced. The logo on the front bass skin is original. The black, wood rim on the bass drum, where the foot pedal attaches has a minor crack. Normal wear, minor scratches and minor pitting are evident relating to the respective, passage of time. Most areas will clean up well. Date on interior shell of floor tom reads Aug 19 1970. Other shells read Aug 1970 dates as well. I believe some parts are 1969 and some are 1970 however it was purchased all at once, with cymbals, new, as a set, in Sept. 1970. They look great! Full set with all original equipment as shown: • 9x13 tom (serial # 803795) • 16x16 floor tom (serial # 803753) • 8x12 tom (serial # 801411) • 14x22 bass (serial # 80499) • 5x14 snare, chrome Supra-Phonic (serial #790503) • 20” Avedis Zyldjian cymbal • 18” Avedis Zyldjian cymbal • 14” hi-hat Avedis Zyldjian cymbals • Ludwig Speed King Pedal • Ludwig Spur Lock Hi Hat Pedal • All original stands & hardware… including the hex/tuning wrenches and that mini, burlap bag! • 4 soft black drum cases, no tears or excessive wear but exterior(s) need cleaning • 1 Trap case- a bit of wear on this…. Have more pictures but here is a few. Thanks, again. Rob |

If you get it for $1500.00 or under you've gotten a great deal. I'd ask much more for it myself.

You would be comfortably in the $1400-1600 for a quick sell. If you are patient and list on ebay/Reverb you could find a buyer in the $1700-$2000 range especially since it is all original. Most guys on here are drum enthusiasts who purchase with an eye to the future re-sell market. Translation, we do not necessarily want to pay top dollar. If you could find that person who had a kit like this around 1970 and has regretted selling it at some point in his/her life, you could see a very good price.
