Basically a really good condition 40s-50s WFL BDP shell pack and matching snare with a custom depth bass drum I've never seen in the vintage gear before.

20x18 bass 1948-52 badge
13x9 tom 1948-52 badge
16x16 FT 1948-52 badge
5.5x14 'Swingster Dance model' snare with SyncroMesh throw. 1955-59 badge.

Having trouble getting image small enough so refer to the link please.

Very nice! Neat to see the bass drum. I've got a Transition badge model that has the 18x20 bass drum. Good luck with your sale.

I haven't seen any others this depth from this time period (not that I've seen everything!) and thought it was very cool. The catalogue does have a 20x18 cocktail drum but this doesn't have all that extra hardware so its a legit bass drum.

I too think that the 18x20 cocktail or Compacto shells were the origins of these special size bass drums. Mine also has no extra holes that would have pointed to it originally being something else initially.

Thank you! Yours are beautiful. One last question..Are your spurs aluminum finish or are they chrome plated. Mine has the dual disappearing spurs and all 4 spurs are aluminum. Thanks.

They are very long and much heavier than my gretsch aluminum spurs so I think steel.
