Default Can you please date this Ludwig & Ludwig drum?

Hi. I've owned this drum for a while but would be interested if anyone could date it for me? It's not the heavy 2-piece shell version so I assume that it's later, maybe the 1930s?

It's in great condition as you can see with only a small number of superficial scratches.

...plus a bunch of mismatched Slingerlands that collectively make a pleasing noise.

Usually when the L+L stamp says Elkhart it indicates the drum was made after WW2.
So my slightly educated opinion would be 1947-1950?

Hi and thanks very much for the helpful reply. Obviously the drum is newer than I thought which might also explain its condition.

Out of interest is this snare (pictured) likely to be a 2-piece soldered shell. It's hard to tell from the photo.

That should be a heavy 2 piece shell. That's an earlier model with that particular strainer. The large bead is also a indicator. I've got that same drum in a 5x14 6 lug model. Sounds great. Late teens drum I do believe.
